How Many Seats Does a Lamborghini Have? (All Models)

Lamborghini has been manufacturing vehicles since 1963. They have always strived to make fast, comfortable, and easy-to-drive cars. Lamborghini currently focuses on designing sleek new supercars.

Still, the older models look very different from the 200 mph raging bulls we know today. But did they make cars with more than two seats? So, how many seats does a Lamborghini have?

Lamborghini is known for manufacturing two-seat supercars that can reach speeds exceeding 200mph. Lamborghini also designed four and five-seater models in the past as there was a demand for their cars with more seating. The Urus is their current 5-seater SUV that can reach a speed of 190 mph.

Read on to discover all the different seating arrangements of all the Lamborghini models throughout their history and some extra facts.

The Seat Layout In A Lamborghini

Lamborghini primarily produces two-seat supercars, but they have delved into the four- and five-seater segments. The reason for most of their models being two-seaters is to keep the car’s overall length to a minimum, aiding in keeping it agile and fast.

The lighter the body of the supercar is, combined with an extremely powerful engine, are all part of the recipe to create the ultimate speed machine.

Keeping the Lamborghini sleek and aerodynamic excites and attracts many customers, but there is a genuine market for a supercar or SUV that can carry more passengers.

Lamborghini did not want to disappoint potential clients and set out and designed eight models throughout the years that have more than two seats.

5 Seat Lamborghini Models

There are not many 5 seat supercars, but Lamborghini is one of the few luxury brands that actually have produced some 5 seat models in the past.

Let’s go through them all.

Lamborghini Cheetah

Lamborghini’s first attempt at a five-seater was in 1977 with their first off-road (non-tractor) model, the Cheetah.

Only one prototype unit was built in an attempt to get a contract from the US Military, but this was unsuccessful.

  • Model: Lamborghini Cheetah
  • Seats Layout: 5
  • Production Date: 1977
  • Versions: Prototype
  • Engine Details: 5.9 liters V8
  • Top Speed: 104 mph

Lamborghini LM001

In 1981 Lamborghini made a second attempt to impress the military with the LM001. One prototype was built, but just like the Cheetah, there was no real interest from the military.

  • Model: Lamborghini LM001
  • Seats Layout: 5
  • Production Date: 1981
  • Versions: Prototype
  • Engine Details: AMC V8
  • Top Speed: 99 mph

The vehicle was nose-heavy, which made handling very difficult. However, Lamborghini did not give up and eventually launched the LMA002, a revised version with only four seats (we’ll get to that later on in this article).

Lamborghini Urus

In 2018 Lamborghini launched the Urus. It was available in a four or five-seat configuration and is a true Lamborghini SUV that is comfortable, stylish, and fast. It’s one of Lamborghinis best-selling models and by far the heaviest model produced.

A 4.0 liter twin-turbocharged V8 capable of delivering 641 bhp with a top speed of 190 mph made the Urus a five-seater super SUV.

  • Model: Lamborghini Urus
  • Seats Layout: 5
  • Production Date: 2018 – present
  • Versions: SUV
  • Engine Details: 4L V8
  • Top Speed: 190 mph

4 Seat Lamborghini Models

While 4 seat Lamborghinis aren’t produced anymore (apart from the Urus), they have produced some really cool and iconic 4 car seat models.

Lamborghini 400GT

The first attempt by Lamborghini to create a four-seater coupe was in 1966 with the 400GT. The 400GT was predominantly a two-seat Grand Tourer, but 250 units with a 2+2 layout were built as there was a demand from potential customers.

  • Model: Lamborghini 400GT
  • Seats Layout: 4
  • Production Date: 1981
  • Version: GT 2+2
  • Engine Details: 4L V12
  • Top Speed: 155 mph

Lamborghini Espada

A proper four-seater from the raging bull was launched in 1968, named the Lamborghini Espada.

Although it only had two doors, it did have four comfortable seats making it a coupe for the family. The Espada was met with great success, and a total of 1208 cars were built.

  • Production Date 1968 – 1978
  • Versions: Series 1, Series 2, Series 3

Lamborghini Jarama

The Lamborghini Jarama was the updated vision of the 400GT, and 177 versions were built in a 2+2 layout. The Jarma was a 4-liter V12 Grand Tourer with only two doors, placing it in the coupe category. A total of 328 cars were built from 1970 to 1976.

Lamborghini Urraco

The Lamborghini Urraco was launched in 1973 and was meant to be the sportier alternative to the Jarma and shared many similarities.

Some of these were the engine and the option of a 2+2 layout. A total of 777 units were built from 1973 to 1979.

  • Production Date: 1973 – 1979

Lamborghini LMA002

The Cheetah and LM001 both paved the way for Lamborghini LMA002. The LMA002 took loads of inspiration from the earlier models but with a true Lamborghini soul.

It was equipped with a 4.8 liter V12 capable of 332 hp and a top speed of 117 mph. A total of 328 LMA002 were sold in 1982.

Conclusion

Lamborghini predominantly makes two-seat supercars, but they have made other versions with multiple seating options. The five-seat models were the Cheetah, LM001, and the new Urus.

The four-seat models were the LMA002 and Espada, but Lamborghini made a few 2+2 versions of their older models as demand grew from their increasing customer base.
